How to spell BEFORE

6 letters · one silly story · spelled right by the end

Writing "before" five times in a row doesn't stick — by Thursday it's gone. What sticks is a picture. Give each letter of BEFORE a character, chain them into one silly story, and your child rebuilds the word from the story every time:

B Bee 🐝 — A bouncy Bee is ready to help you remember BEFORE!

Ask your child: What is ready to help you remember BEFORE?

E Egg 🥚 — Bee hides behind a giant Egg.

Ask your child: What does Bee hide behind?

F Flower 🌸 — Egg pulls Flower out of a magic bag.

Ask your child: What does Egg pull out?

O Oven 🍞 — Flower meets a friendly Oven.

Ask your child: Who does Flower meet?

R Rice 🍚 — Oven discovers Rice hiding in a cave.

Ask your child: What is hiding in the cave?

E Elf 🧝 — Everyone celebrates with Elf!

Ask your child: What do they celebrate with?

Why this works: each letter becomes a concrete image (dual coding), and retelling the story is retrieval practice — the two most reliable memory effects in learning research. It also turns spelling practice from a fight into a giggle.

Every story is different — regenerate until your child laughs, swap any letter's character, or let the AI write one. Works for any word, including Singapore MOE Primary 1 and Primary 2 spelling words.
